One would not think that death could be so beautiful from a distance. On a helicopter flight to Banyo, somewhat to the north and east of Ndu, we passed over Roum Rock, and the spot at which Laura Edwards and Ruby Eliason were killed. It was a sobering reminder of our own helicopter-born mortality that day. But there was another side to the view. Seeing the mountain was very different than seeing it from below. Must not God see things very differently than the way that we see them here. Of course, that would not be of any comfort had not Christ come in the flesh. Somehow God both sees the roads we travel, and our needs, from an eternal perspective, but empathizes with us because he is here with us.
