In April 2000 a landrover carrying Dr. Laura Edwards and Dr. Ruby Eliason went over the side of the mountain at this very location. The motor (as they call them here)was stopped in midair by a tree. This saved the Africans who were with the doctors, but Laura and Ruby were thrown from the vehicle and almost instantly killed.
